The Conservatives have named their candidate for the northern Manitoba riding of Churchill-Keewatinook Aski.
Kyle Mirecki is described by the Winnipeg Free Press as “a young Winnipegger who has held various positions within the Conservative government.”
Mirecki is currently a Juris Doctor candidate at the University of Manitoba, the newspaper reported.
As of early Tuesday afternoon, the Conservative Party website did not feature any information about Mirecki other than his name.
The Tories become the last major party to name a candidate in the riding. Parties had until Monday afternoon to nominate a candidate.
The Oct. 19 election will see incumbent NDP MP Niki Ashton attempt to retain a seat she has held since 2008.
