Dear Editor, I'm writing this letter responding to the article about the reckless driving of some drivers the day that the Christmas tree was being put up at City Hall. I want to express my frustration because I was one of those "reckless drivers". That day I was driving down Main Street and was planning on turning right at the traffic lights by Mr. Ribs. There were vehicles in front of me so I didn't have the proper viewing ability to see the road block. There were no proper signs to warn drivers from turning right before reaching the traffic lights. As you reached the traffic lights, all of a sudden you saw this road block having no time to respond properly. By the time I saw the road block it was too late to turn back because I had already started turning and there were other vehicles behind me turning right as well. So instead of stopping and trying to turn back I managed to squeeze by the road block and become a "reckless driver" trying not to cause an accident with the vehicles behind me. I totally understand that the City workers have to work under a safe environment. I really feel for them because a lot of times they work under difficult circumstances, in order for the rest of us to enjoy the services they provide. Those who send the City workers to do any kind of work, need to take the time to secure their workers' and their citizens' safety. A few months ago on South Hudson they were filling in some holes on the road. See 'Road' P.# Con't from P.# It took more than four weeks to finish and there were road blocks in front of these holes forbidding drivers to drive through. Not only were they the wrong road signs but they were left there for kids to play with. The kids were taking these signs and putting them in the middle of the road, putting in danger the unsuspicious upcoming drivers It was "reckless drivers" like myself who were pulling over and putting the signs back to where they were suppose to be. These kinds of incidents happen in Flin Flon as well. If the City wants drivers to take them more seriously, they have to become more serious themselves, by changing the inappropriate signs they provide in all work sites. Sincerely, A Frustrated "Reckless Driver"
