Quebec police end Amber Alert after eight-year-old girl found 'safe and sound'

An Amber Alert has ended for an eight-year-old girl police alleged was kidnapped in Châteauguay, Que., on Saturday. The Sûreté du Québec said the girl was found "safe and sound" moments after issuing the alert. They did not say where she was located.

Police had said she was last seen in a gold Toyota Tacoma at about 3 p.m.

They didn't say whether the woman they identified as a suspect would face any charges.

They also declined to comment on what, if any, relationship existed between the two.
