The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League has released the names of the players chosen to take part in the annual All-Star and Prospect games slated for the Northern Lights Palace in Melfort on Sunday, January 25th. The All Star and Prospects are voted on by the league's coaches. The All Star Team's starting line up is determined by the top vote getters in each position. The first place Melville Millionaires have placed seven players on the Sherwood Conference team, led by winger Chad Haacke. Haacke was the only unanimous choice on either side. The 19 year-old is currently second to Sherwood All Star teammate Justin Keller of the Yorkton Terriers in SJHL scoring. The Defending Royal Bank Cup champion Humboldt Broncos have placed six players on the Dodge Conference club, including defensemen Mark Bradshaw and Brendan Vanthuyne as well as forwards Arlen Marshall and Scott Degelman. All four were members of last year's national champion. Goalie Alex Gagnon and forward Simon Nadeau are the other all-stars as selected by league coaches. The Dodge Conference All-Stars will be coached by the staff of the Battlefords' North Stars, led by Blaine Sautner. Behind the bench for the Sherwood Conference will be Ralph Beatty and Neil Lamberty of Melville. The two assistants kept the Millionaires in first place for over a month while the Mils searched for a new head coach in the wake of Steve Young's departure to the Western Hockey League.
