Goalie Greg Goodwin made 41 stops December 28 as the Neepawa Natives increased their lead in second place in the Sherwood Division of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League to six points. The five-time champion OCN Blizzard leads the Sherwood Division and is first overall. OCN has a 31-5-2 record and two overtime losses, for 66 points in 40 games. Neepawa is 24-13-2 and has three overtime losses, for 53 points in 42 games. The Selkirk Steelers continue to lead the Addison Division. Selkirk is 31-10-0 and has one overtime loss, for 63 points n 42 games. The Winkler Flyers are 21-15-1 and have two overtime losses, for 45 points in 39 games. Goodwin's performance came in a 2-2 tie against the Portage Terriers on home ice. Goodwin is tied for the league lead with two shutouts in 1,614 minutes. OCN veteran Aaron Starr continues to lead league scorers. Starr, 20, leads the league and Canadian Junior 'A' Hockey League with 42 goals in 37 games. Starr leads the league and is tied for the CJAHL lead with 82 points. Starr's linemate, Michael Young, leads the league with 48 assists in 38 games. Pierre-Olivier Girouard of OCN leads league goalies with a 2.80 goals against average and .919 saves percentage in 923 minutes. Teammate Jonathan Meyer leads league goalies with a 19-2-2 won-lost-tied record in 1,348 minutes. Also, the Southeast Blades transferred the playing rights of goalie Ryan Martin to Portage for future considerations. Portage transferred the playing rights of defenceman James Pawluk and future considerations to Southeast for the playing rights of defenceman John Fieweger and forward Brent Blachford. Portage transferred the playing rights of Martin and future considerations to the Brooks Bandits of the Alberta Junior Hockey League for the playing rights of goalie Anthony Marshall.
