Nineteen Canadian Junior 'A' Hockey League players have been identified in the National Hockey League central scouting service's mid-season rankings of North American players. Seven players each from the British Columbia Hockey League and Ontario Provincial Junior Hockey League made the central scouting list. Four players from the Alberta Junior Hockey League and one from the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League are also ranked. Travis Zajac of the Salmon Arm Silverbacks of the BCHL is rated 20th overall. He is among three players from Salmon Arm listed. Two players each from the Nanaimo Clippers of the BCHL, Grande Prairie Storm of the AJHL, Markham Waxers and St. Michael's Buzzers of the OPJHL are among the 240 North American players and 30 North American goalies ranked. One player each from the St. Albert Saints and Canmore Eagles of the AJHL, Vernon Vipers and Surrey Eagles of the BCHL, Notre Dame Hounds of the SJHL, Newmarket Hurricanes, Bowmanville Eagles and Aurora Tigers of the OPJHL round out the CJAHL contingent. Raymond Sawada of Nanaimo is ranked 33th overall. Kris Chucko of Salmon Arm, Nick Johnson of St. Albert and Scott McCulloch of Grande Prairie are rated 61st, 65th and 71st, respectively. Jordan Foote of Nanaimo is listed 119th. Craig Switzer of Salmon Arm and Kyle Radke of Grande Prairie are ranked 127th and 140th, respectively. Mike Santorelli of Vernon and Matt Robinson of Surrey are rated 160th and 169th, respectively. Andrew Gordon of Notre Dame, Ben Cottreau of Markham, Mike Lesperance of Newmarket and Ryan Olidis of Markham are listed 182nd, 194th, 203rd and 209th, respectively. Matt Caruana of Bowmanville, Michael Kostka of Aurora, Jeff Kyrzakos and Daniel Vukovic of St. Michael's are ranked 224th, 231st, 236th and 240th, respectively. Jordan Alford of Canmore is rated 24th among goalies. A record 22 players were selected directly off CJAHL rosters in the 2003 NHL entry draft.
