They were vaulting, tumbling and collecting ribbons and medals at École McIsaac School gym last weekend when Flinty’s Gymnasts held its Minion Recruitment and Gymnastics Fun Meet on Saturday.

Gymnasts from Thompson joined Flin Flon athletes for the event.

In the morning, pre-beginner gymnasts performed. The tiny gymnasts were not marked, but they did receive comment cards about their routines from the judges.

During the session, 28 girls and six boys performed on all four apparatuses: vault, bars, beam and floor.

In the afternoon session, 26 girls competed, including 15 gymnasts from Thompson Tumblers.

The routines were judged and ribbons and medals given out for each of the four apparatuses, as well as all-around.

“All the girls did very well,” said team spokeswoman Sheena Reed.
