The Flin Flon Bombers completed a trade that will send Donald Milburn and the list rights of Garret Hildebrandt to Yorkton, in exchange for 18 year-old centre Clayton Geiger. Milburn had asked to be traded and left the team earlier this week to wait from his home in Hudson Bay, SK. On Thursday morning, his wish was granted, and now Milburn will join his new teammates on the Terriers, as coach Don Chesney hopes to shake up his team that has struggled in the win department. The Bombers gave up an experienced warrior for a rookie who has yet to find his groove in the SJHL. Geiger played for coach Ryan Hoffman with the Yorkton Harvest for the last two seasons in the Saskatchewan Midget 'AAA' league. The 18 year-old from Kennedy, SK, was third in league scoring with 26 goals and 37 assists in 44 games last year, but has only two assists in 16 games with the Terriers in 16 games this season. Milburn had five goals and five assists in 13 games for the Bombers this season. "Clayton played for me for the last two years," said Hoffman. "He's a talented scoring centre, who adds scoring and leadership to our lineup. He found himself in a pretty limited role in Yorkton, and will play a lot more for us and add to our success." Geiger could be in the lineup as early as this weekend, when the Bombers host the Estevan Bruins on Friday and Saturday night. The Bruins are barely hanging on to fourth place in the Sherwood Conference, just two points ahead of the Yorkton Terriers. With two wins this weekend, the Bombers would gain some important ground on the Melfort Mustangs and La Ronge Ice Wolves in the race for fourth spot in the Dodge Conference. The Bruins are just 2-4 on the road so far this season with two overtime losses. Flin Flon is 3-3-3 at home. Both teams have a young squad, so the energy level at the Whitney Forum this weekend should be intense. While the Bruins don't have a go-to goal scorer, they have a number of young guns that can put the puck in the net. Their power-play is less than effective, but they have one of the best penalty kills in the league. On the other hand, the Bombers have one of the top power-plays, but their penalty killing numbers aren't the greatest, although they have seen vast improvements in the last five games. These will be the last two home games for the Flin Flon Bombers for a couple of weeks, as they will take off on a three-game trip the following weekend, with a stop in North Battleford on Friday, November 14 and games on Saturday and Sunday against the Kindersley Klippers.
