Flin Flon is famous for cranking out hockey players and miners, but anyone who has ever lived here knows that we've gone on to do so much more. Now the Information Superhighway is paving the way for residents to find out just what our fellow Flin Flonners have done with their lives, even if they haven't been home in years. See 'Grads' P.# Con't from P.# Just over 1,515 Flin Flon high school graduates, dating back decades, have registered with Classmates.com, a popular Web site designed to reunite old acquaintances. The site features 1,309 Hapnot Collegiate graduates, including a number of familiar names such as former NHL tough guy Ken Baumgartner. Many Faces Education Centre has 45 alumni listed, and there are another 161 graduates from the now-defunct Flin Flon Collegiate Institute and Sir Maurice Roche high schools. While most of the grads were no doubt proud to list their names under their alma maters, a few registrants appeared to be having a bit of fun. For instance, did a gentleman named "Zippy Rhinofuzz" really don a cap and gown from Hapnot? The site is not limited to high schools, either, as alumni from McIsaac, Parkdale, and Ruth Betts schools have registered. Also represented are Birchview, Hudson, Terrace, Willowvale schools, all of which closed their doors years ago. Before you log onto Classmates.com, keep in mind that while it is free to register, there is a fee for anyone wishing to contact their old school chums.
