There have been some positive signals in talks between the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission and its unionized employees. That's the word from Peter Olfert, president the Manitoba Government Employees Union, who told the Winnipeg Fress Press this week that "the talks are moving forward." At the heart of the negotiations, he told the newspaper, are salary, benefits and the amount of work given to part-time employees. Nearly 90 per cent of the union workers voted in favour of a strike last month but no strike date was ever set.
