A random check stop by Creighton RCMP Tuesday afternoon led to one of the biggest drug busts in recent years. A man from Campbell River, B.C., was found to have eight pounds of marijuana Ñ a street value of $30,000 Ñ in his trunk. Cst. Scott Baron had become suspicious of the driver during the stop on South Hudson Street, leading to a subsequent search. The drugs were likely destined for the Flin Flon-Creighton market, police said. Robert Paul Lake, 42, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance in excess of three kilograms for the purpose of trafficking. He has been remanded into custody to appear in court in La Ronge later this week. Flin Flon RCMP assisted with the bust.
