RCMP are conducting a search of the Duck Pond in connection to the disappearance of a 34-year-old man from Pelican Narrows last year.

Flin Flon RCMP and Underwater Recovery Teams from both Manitoba and Saskatchewan RCMP are at Hapnot Lake to search for Leroy George Custer, a man who has been missing for nearly a calendar year. Searches of the area are scheduled to continue until later this evening.

Custer was reported missing in October 2018 and was last seen in Prince Albert about a year ago. The area had previously been searched by a civilian group in connection to Custer’s disappearance.

Custer is described as 5-foot-8 and 140 pounds. In photos circulated by RCMP, Custer is shown with black, buzzed hair.

RCMP have said Custer was thought to have been in Pelican Narrows, Creighton, Deschambault Lake, Flin Flon, Prince Albert or Saskatoon.

Saskatchewan RCMP are seeking more information from the public that may lead to Custer being located. Anyone with information regarding the case can contact Pelican Narrows RCMP at 306-632-3300 or Saskatchewan RCMP at 306-310-7267 (306-310-RCMP).
