Painting celebrating canoe team headed to Flin Flon airport

During Culture Days, 11 area artists teamed up to create a painting depicting the famous 1967 Manitoba Centennial canoe team. Now the people who purchased the painting have donated it to the City of Flin Flon for display at the airport.

During Culture Days, 11 area artists teamed up to create a painting depicting the famous 1967 Manitoba Centennial canoe team. Now the people who purchased the painting have donated it to the City of Flin Flon for display at the airport.

The painting will be under the stewardship of the Flin Flon Arts Council. Pictured (from left) are Crystal Kolt of the arts council, donors Cathy Daneliuk and Greg East, artist Mike Spencer, and Beth Heine and Susan Shairp of the arts council.

The painting is the work of Spencer, Karen Clark, Ron Watt, Diana Thorneycroft, Sandra Dixon, Colleen McKee, Monique Rainville, Jan Modler, Lynn Burroughs, Sarah Trevor and Patti Evans. Donors were East, Jan Modler, Glen Campbell, Myrna Guymer, the Daneliuk family, Tom and Sonia Goodman, Roger and Wendy Gregoire, Sandra Dixon, Dave and Sara-Lynne Koop, and Ted and Vivian Smook.
