One of Main Street’s oldest buildings is coming down.
City council confirmed Tuesday that the former Instaloans building will be demolished due to its poor condition. No date was mentioned.
The building is located at 41 Main Street, beside Pharmasave. It once housed the law firm of former Flin Flon lawyer Michael Bomek.
Coun. Bill Hanson estimated the building dates back to the 1930s. It is now owned by Community Futures Greenstone.
It is also expected that the former Crepes N Grapes restaurant, located nearby on Main Street, will be torn down, but no details were available on when that might happen.
A fire destroyed Crepes N Grapes in May. The restaurant opened at the long-established building at 44 Main Street in 2007.
