Members of the Flin Flon Lions Club attended the Lions Mid-Winter Convention this past weekend in Portage La Prairie. At the Governor's Ball on Saturday, two Lions were presented with awards. International Director Gary Tschache of Bozeman, Montana presented Past District Governor Andy Stewart with an International President's Certificate. Also, Lion Dale Forman of the Lions Eye Bank of Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario presented Lion Wayne Streamer with the "Stew" Peever Award. This award is presented annually to a Lion who has given exceptional services to the Journey for Sight, a fundraiser for the sight-impaired. As well, Flin Flin Lion Roger Poirier was elected as Second Vice-Governor for the district. Also attending the convention was Flin Flon's Brittany Brown, who represented her community in the Speak Off, a public speaking contest for youth. She received third prize. Congratulations, Brittany.
