It's that special time of year once again and nowhere is the festive spirit of the holiday season embraced with more warmth and enthusiasm than right here in Manitoba! The breathtaking beauty of winter in Manitoba is the perfect backdrop for our holiday festivities. As we gather with friends and family for this special occasion, the spirit of compassion and generosity that Manitobans display throughout the year shines even more brightly than usual. Indeed, this time of year reminds us of all that we have received as individuals, as families, and as a community and rekindles our commitment to one another. Rather than looking to the fulfillment of our own wish lists, this is a time to consider the needs of those around us and to share our blessings with our family, our friends, and our community. The holiday season is a time to celebrate Manitoba's multicultural tapestry through the diversity of our faiths and customs. Regardless of our individual backgrounds and traditions, we are united in a spirit of fellowship and this spirit is the gift we give each other through a successful and happy community. On behalf of my family and my colleagues in the Legislature, let me extend to each of you best wishes for a safe and joyous holiday and may the warmth and kindness of the season surround you throughout the year.
