Each of the area’s four high schools will welcome the public in to congratulate this year’s graduating class later this month.

The Class of 2024 will be celebrated with ceremonies at Hapnot Collegiate and Many Faces Education Centre in Flin Flon, Creighton Community School and Frontier Collegiate in Cranberry Portage.

Hapnot’s grad events began June 17, with graduating students marching through the halls of both Ecole McIsaac School and Ruth Betts Community School Monday morning. Tickets for the annual Safe Grad social went on sale for graduating students and their guests June 18.

Public events for graduation will start June 24 with the annual Hapnot car parade, starting at 10:30 a.m. at the Hapnot parking lot. The parade will then move on out at 11 a.m. with an RCMP escort - the route of the parade is expected to be shared in the coming days.

The main event of Hapnot’s graduation season takes place June 27, the main ceremony at the Whitney Forum. The arena will open for graduates, guests and family at 4 p.m., with the ceremony beginning in earnest at 5:25 p.m. with undergraduate student awards. The convocation ceremony will follow until around 7:45 p.m., when the grads will head out on the traditional march, going down Main Street from the arena before looping back around First Avenue and back to the rink before a final dance ends the event. Safe Grad will begin at 10 p.m. at the Flin Flon Community Hall - all attendees are asked to show up before midnight.

The region’s other three high schools will host their ceremonies starting later this week. Frontier Collegiate will host the region’s first graduation ceremony June 20, taking place at the school’s campus in Cranberry Portage. The ceremony will take place in the school’s gym.

Creighton Community School will start its annual grad activities June 19 at 10:10 a.m., hosting a cap and gown parade through the school for graduating students. The school will host its annual grad car parade June 25, then hold its main ceremony June 26 in the school’s gymnasium starting at 4 p.m. That will be followed by the traditional grad march from the school to the Creighton Avenue green space.

Many Faces will also host its graduation ceremony June 26, starting at 4:45 p.m. at the school’s gymnasium at 115 Green Street behind Hapnot.
