The NOR-MAN Regional Health Authority thanked its volunteers with lunch and a journey back in time yesterday. The authority hosted a complimentary luncheon at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church that concluded with a slide show from historian Gerry Clark on the early days of Flin Flon. "Every year, we put on a luncheon to thank our volunteers for their dedication," commented Brenda Veitch, volunteer coordinator. About 80 of the authority's volunteers stopped by for the luncheon, held in conjunction with National Volunteer Week. Veitch noted that volunteers contributed 3,271 hours of work to the authority in 2003, the equivalent of about 20 full weeks. Whether it's spending time with seniors in home care or helping in other ways, more volunteers are always welcome to lend a hand. Anyone interested in volunteering with the health authority may contact Brenda at 687-9315 for more information.
