Aboriginal youth from across remote parts of Manitoba have converged in Cranberry Portage for three days of sports and memories. More than 300 students from the schools within the Frontier School Division are taking part in the 30th annual Frontier Games, which wrap up tonight with an awards ceremony. "I think it's impressive," commented Lisa Jennissen of Frontier Collegiate, which is hosting the Games along with the community's elementary school. "The whole concept is to get the school division closer together." The Games included seven sports: badminton, floor hockey, basketball, cross-country skiing, snowshoe racing, table tennis and trap-setting. The Frontier School Division consists of 43 schools, and all but nine were slated to have representation at the Games. The athletes who competed in Cranberry Portage previously took part in the regional Frontier Games.
