A summary of police calls made from Dec. 8-Dec.14 (and a seasonal poem), as submitted by Flin Flon RCMP;
‘Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the Flon
Multiple reports came in of B & Es gone wrong
The reports had stated a man in red and white
Would enter a residence and take off through flight
Instead of stealing presents from under the trees
The suspect left gifts behind and ate milk and cookies
The Flin Flon RCMP responded post haste
But would always arrive just a little too late
Evidence was collected, not a clue was overlooked
Hoof prints were observed on all of the roofs
The Mounties patrolled well into the night
But never could get the suspect in sight
On the officers’ radio, a dispatch received
Of a B & E in progress on this Christmas Eve
Past the Hundred Stairs the cruiser went in a flash
A copper spilled his coffee all over the dash
The police had arrived and the perp was scene
The fuzz were all set to take him to custody
“Ho ho ho!,” exclaimed the jolly fat man
“Please cut me a break. I know that you can.”
In the night, at this point, police had to take pause
The person they were looking for was ol’ Santa Claus
“Stick to milk and cookies, not the eggnog and cheer
You have to be sober while flying those deer”
“Why thank you officers, you gave me a scare”
Santa was free to go, the sleigh leapt in the air
They heard him exclaim as he flew out of sight
“Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”
Happy Holidays from the Flin Flon RCMP!
