Christmas has certainly come more than once this year for the Lord’s Bounty Food Bank.

The organization has received monetary and food item donations for the past month, resulting in well-stocked shelves and a healthier bank account.

Donations have come in from schools, businesses and non-profit organizations.

Dennis Hydamaka, who’s been running the food bank for more than 20 years, says they are in good standing right now.

The shelves are getting full with boxes of pasta looking more like a Tetris grid and canned fish are stacked as high as the shelves allow.

The Lord’s Bounty Food Bank’s newest donation this week came from Robert Campbell at RJ’s Wood Haul, who presented Hydamaka with $250 to help replenish the organization’s bank account.

Last year alone, Hydamaka spent $10,000 on groceries to help fill the pantries of those who cannot fill their own.

On some occasions, Hydamaka said, he would spend upwards of $500 on just hamburger.

“This really helps,” he said, as he graciously accepted the donation from Campbell.

The recent donations will help to provide for clients over the Christmas season – some of whom are new and some who have relied on the services in the past.
