Mattel has announced a recall of a Batmobile toy amid concerns that the sharp rear tail wings are hazardous to children. The toy giant reported that it has received more than a dozen reports of injuries consisting of scrapes, scratches, lacerations, and punctures related to the toy. Four of the injuries required medical treatment. Parents are advised to take the "Batman Batmobile," manufactured and imported by Mattel Inc., away from their children immediately and contact the company for information on free replacement wings. The toy is a 20-inch blue and gray plastic vehicle with the model number B4944 written on the bottom. Consumers may call Mattel at 1-888-271-9891 or visit www.service.mattel.com to determine if their toy is among the recalled models and to order the free replacement wings if needed.
