Creighton Community School’s Drama Club earned rave reviews this week for its latest Dessert Theatre production.

Creighton Community School’s Drama Club earned rave reviews this week for its latest Dessert Theatre production.

A cast of 15 presented The Ransom of Miss Elverna Dower, the story of two students who kidnap an unpopular teacher from Preston High School. Their plan falls through when the school’s principal isn’t willing to pay the $10,000 ransom.

Friends Tim Stack (Matt Reimer) and Casey Matthews (Paige Walker) are forced to find their way out of potential trouble as they hold their teacher captive in the school’s boiler room.

Principal Donnelly (Michael Manns) tries to keep his cool and get a hold of the situation but has more than just a missing teacher to deal with.

Teacher union rep Miss Hightower (Khariz Kawa) is hot on his tail with investigation tips to get Miss Elverna Dower back while the parent council starts a bake sale to raise funds for the school.

Following the performance, cast members served three dessert options and held a 50/50 draw, chase the ace and the school’s signature “What’s In The Box?” contest.

All funds generated through ticket sales and draws will go toward the Drama Club’s trip to the Manitoba Theatre for Young People.
