Lorna Jean (nee Franks) Rogan was born August 31, 1929 in Melville, Saskatchewan to Margaret and Lorne Franks. The first 18 years of her life were spent in Melville where she graduated and then moved to Regina to work at Speer's Funeral Home. It is then Lorna met a tall handsome man, Bud Rogan. They were married August 31, 1951. The married couple then moved to Flin Flon when the north was not always a popular place to go. During the first years in Flin Flon Lorna and Bud worked for HBM&S until 1958. Together they raised two children, Lori and Allan. Lorna assisted Bud in the operation of Rogan's Funeral Home from 1958 until Bud's sudden death in December of 1981. In 1987 Lorna met her soul mate Dennis Bolton, and they were married in a private ceremony November 8, 1991. Lorna and Dennis moved to Blondie's Beach in 1988 and with Norton and Suzie, her faithful companions, made a cozy home. Their home and back deck were always open to those who liked to socialize and review the affairs of the day. Lorna was a rock solid supporter of Flin Flon and Northern Manitoba and worked tirelessly to promote and develop the arts and culture North of 54. Lorna passed away peacefully Monday, November 10, 2003.
