Northlands College staff and students celebrated the accomplishments of the 2015-16 school year at their annual Achievement Day on Thursday, May 25.
Ordean Goulet, director of trades and technical programs at the college, offered his congratulations and words of advice to the adult students.
He encouraged graduates to view education as a lifelong process, and to continue to work towards meaningful employment.
“Keep going,” he said. “You don’t need to be a statistic – a negative one.”
Over the afternoon event, graduating and returning students enjoyed a meal together, penny parade prizes, and praise from instructors and school leaders for their commitment to ongoing education.
Jocelyn Vandall, campus manager for the Creighton branch of Northlands College, said current programs at the college include adult basic education classes, an office administration course, a welding certificate program and university classes in a range of subjects.
